In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Unbeatable location — Myeongdong station and the shopping street are just across the road, and Namsan Tower is a short walk away.
  • Rooftop views of Namsan Tower — Guests consistently praise the rooftop terrace for its view of the tower, especially at night.
  • Clean, well-equipped shared spaces — The shared kitchen, laundry, and bathrooms are repeatedly described as clean and well maintained, with complimentary breakfast.
  • Friendly and helpful staff — Guests highlight the staff's willingness to assist, from storing luggage to organising social evenings.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Steep uphill approach — The guesthouse sits on a hill, which some guests found tiring, especially with luggage.
  • Rooms score lower than the property average — While the guesthouse overall rates 7.7, the Rooms category sits at 7.3, suggesting private rooms may feel basic.
  • Street noise and potential for mosquitoes — The central location can bring some noise, and one guest reported issues with mosquitoes in summer.
  • Limited check-in window — Check-in is only available between 14:00 and 22:00, which could be inconvenient for late arrivals.

“Right near Myeongdong Metro station, so getting around the shopping areas was easy. Being on Line 4 gave us lots of flexibility for sightseeing. Our room was clean and comfortable, with enough space for our family of four. The staff were friendly and quick to help, and the free breakfast was a good way to start the day.”

“The pod bed was very comfortable and came with a locker for my luggage. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the guesthouse sits close to subway and bus stops. The rooftop view of Namsan Tower was stunning. The reception team, especially one staff member, went out of their way to make everyone feel at home and even organised a fun evening of music and laughs. There were a couple of minor issues with mosquitoes and the bathroom, but the overall value was excellent.”

“Handy location next to the subway and shopping street. Comfortable beds with good reading lights and charging points, and the room had plenty of storage.”

“Stayed several days during my trip to Seoul. The staff were remarkably friendly and helpful, especially one girl from Thailand. The uphill walk to the guesthouse was the only downside, but being close to the subway, a convenience store, and Myeongdong shopping made up for it. The beds were comfortable, and the curtain in the dorm gave extra privacy. The big locker near the bed held my backpack easily, and the showers and toilets were spotless. The rooftop had a great view of Namsan Tower, and the shared kitchen with free food was a nice extra. Good wifi, laundry facilities, and a convenience store nearby were all bonuses. I'd definitely recommend it.”

“Good location near transport, restaurants, and attractions. Facilities were clean and well equipped, and the staff were friendly.”
